How to enable 2FA for your Dropbox account

Setting up two factor authentication is super important for keeping your account secure.

It helps stop unauthorized access and keeps your sensitive information safe. With all the cyber threats out there, having two factor authentication is a must. And Dropbox makes it simple for you to set it up. Let's show you how to set up two factor authentication.

Log to your Dropbox account. Head over to Account Settings. Look for the security tab Toggle the two factor authentication switch to on. You'll need to enter your password to verify your identity.

Then you've got a few choices for verification. There's text message getting a code since your phone via SMS. Then there's your authenticator app. Use apps like Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator.

As your second line of defense. If you selected the authenticator app, open your authenticator app and scan the QR code that pops up or manually enter the secret key. This should provide you a code for verification. Type this code in to confirm.

Once confirmed, there should be some backup options that are available. You can add a backup number just in case you lose your main device. The other option is backup codes. Be sure to save these generated backup codes for when you can't access your two factor authentication method.
